Simply Southern Photography, owned by Lisa Miller, offers exceptional photography for all areas of North Carolina.
We are available for weddings and portraits (including family, maternity, holidays, pets, bridal,
and engagement), as well as event photography, landscape photography, and other special projects.
Our special projects and event photography has been featured in the Independent Weekly,
the News and Observer, the Clayton News-Star, and the Sanford Herald. Our event photography recently
won first place in the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival Photography Competition. Lisa is a member of
WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International).
Photography has been a passion for Lisa for many years. She spent much of her life as the unofficial photographer
for every gathering, event, or item she could capture with her lens. Building upon the idea that your passion should be your life's work, and inspired
by Ralph Waldo Emerson's thought that "None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone,"
Lisa began to learn more about the technical side of photography and study under a local photographer. She then took the plunge to begin her
own business, and has been enjoying capturing memories ever since. Lisa's approach to photography combines photojournalistic aspects and traditional
perspectives, and she specializes in outdoor sessions where nature accentuates the personality and the beauty of each person. To Lisa, photography is about
the fleeting moments in life - the ones that weave together in our memories and hearts to create what we are and what we love. Photography is a means to
remember those we love, rejoice in what we cherish, and experience things we may never see again.
Weddings
Our wedding photography combines traditional and photojournalistic aspects to provide you a memorable capture of your wedding. Our goal is to capture the special aspects of your wedding - from the preparation through the reception, we want to capture small details as well as the traditional posed photos. We do not limit the number of photographs that we take; instead we focus on capturing the special moments that make up this most important day. We are distinct from other wedding photographers in that our wedding packages include the option to purchase a DVD of the proofs, as well as a copyright release form. Bridal Portraits and Family Portraits Our portrait photography is a fun, relaxing experience where you can just be you. We work with you to create the style of portrait you prefer - whether it be posed, formal portraits or candid, creative portraits - or a mixture of both! All portrait photography is taken on location. Please check with your location preference to verify their fees, as well as that photography is allowed. We welcome children and pets as part of your portrait, and look forward to working with each to create a memorable image.Much like our wedding photography, our event photography combines traditional and photojournalistic aspects to provide you the a memorable capture of your event. Our goal is to capture the special aspects of your event, and we work with you to understand your goals and needs regarding the special event. We do not limit the number of photographs that we take; instead we focus on capturing the special moments that make up your event. Events we have photographed in the past include birthdays, parades, retirement parties, non-profit events, and christenings. Landscapes and Special Projects We are available to work with you on varying special projects, including: landscape and plant nursery photography, theatre and publicity items, architecture photography, and many other items.
